Although an outstanding destination for medical tourism, China is referred to by medical tourism experts as a late bloomer in the said industry when compared to its neighbors the Philippines and Thailand. However, China is still a popular destination for medical tourism because of its affordable healthcare and the quality of this healthcare.
The Asian country offers a range of medical specialties and this includes neurology, orthopedics and cardiology. It is also home to stem cell treatments making China the most advanced country in Asia in the stem cell front.
Offering more than the Great Wall of China built to fend off attacking Mongols in ancient times, China is also known for its beautiful towering mountains. Beijing, the capital hosts a number of world class hospitals and centuries old buildings. For over 500 years now, it has been home to the infamous Forbidden City. China as they say isn’t just a country, it is its very own world – a world that gave birth to a number of dynasties and lots of legends that the west only see in the silver screen.
Major Chinese cities are also great places for shopping. There are a number of things you can buy at real low prices while in China –this is the place where almost everything are produced after all.
But why go to China to get medical treatment if you can get it done at home? What is great about medical tourism is that it opens doors to treatments and procedures many people usually cannot afford in their own country. Medical treatments in China are more affordable compared to those in the west and there is nothing to worry about when it comes to the quality of care you will be getting in the said country because the Chinese government ensures that all hospital facilities are at par with international standards.
