Medical tourism in Taiwan concentrates on plastic surgery

Medical tourism in Asia is synonymous to world class plastic surgery and non-invasive cosmetic treatments. Destinations such as the Philippines, Thailand and Taiwan are just a few of the best Asian countries to go to when looking to get plastic surgery. 

Much like its other Asian neighbors, Taiwan offers cosmetic surgical procedures such as liposuction, tummy tucks, botox, breast implants among others. All these treatments are available in the country’s finest medical centers.

The country has a lot of doctors trained in the United States and since the procedures done in the place are more affordable compared to costs in western nations, a lot of medical tourists fly to Taipei for cosmetic treatments.

The warm sun greets the traveler who goes to Taiwan especially when one choose to go to the southern part of the 36, 000 square kilometer country. Known to many westerners as Formosa, the country boasts towering mountains including the tallest in the northeast of Asia –the Yushan. Its coastal scenes are also a sight to behold that is why Taiwan is one of the more popular destinations not only for medical tourists but also for those who would like to experience the Far East.

The Penghu National Scenic Area composed of 90 small islands scattered in the Taiwan Strait are just a few of the places one can visit while in Taiwan.

The place also has a number of national parks, beautiful recreation farms, forested areas and of course tourist hotspots such as Keelung City, New Taipei, Taipei itself, Hsinchu County, Taouyuan County among others.

It may be inconvenient to go to Taiwan though especially if you are coming from the continental US. The flight duration usually takes around 17 hours or more if one includes stopovers. 

However, if you take into consideration the money you will save in getting the treatment you need, Taiwan is definitely a fine choice.
