Brazil, much like what happened to Argentina, became a popular medical tourism destination when the Real went down against the American Dollar. Its low cost healthcare apart of course from its beautiful rain forests and white beaches proved to be quite alluring for many Americans.

Internationally known as a cosmetic surgery hotspot, Brazil is the destination of the rich and famous in order for them to get the makeover they want.

There are medical travel hospitals in Brazil and much like hospitals in neighboring countries, these hospitals are accredited by the JCI. Some are even accredited by the JCAHO.

The idea of traveling to this rather populous Latin American country can be daunting but if you really want to get that makeover over and done with, flying to one of its most famous cities –Porto Alegre is a fine idea. And if you have the time once you have recovered, you will be able to experience its exciting nightclubs as well as famous barbecues in many of its restaurants.

The Language

If you do not speak Portuguese, it is best to bring a dictionary with you but you would only be using this when you are out and about in the town or in the Brazilian countryside because the doctors speak fluent English. Brazil is the only Portuguese-speaking country in Latin America and it has no regional dialects.

Climate

If you are thinking of getting a tummy tuck abroad, you can go to Brazil  during the summertime (from December to February). The humidity can be stifling though especially if you plan to go farther south. Winter on the other hand is expected from June to the end of August. Rain showers are frequent in this Latin American country given its tropical climate but you don’t have to worry about this because heavy rainfall only occurs for a few months each year.
