Filled with mystery and legends about Vlad Tepes, Romania is a wonderful destination for those who would like to see old castles, monasteries, the Carpathians and the Danube Delta along with other wondrous sites that the rest of the world usually just read from novels set in a Romanian, Hungarian or Ukrainian backdrops.

Bordered by Moldavia, Hungary and Ukraine, Romania is a country full of historic treasures and stories about the Ottoman Empire as well as other cultures that has influenced its wondrous music and its heart-wrenching songs still sung today by local musicians during gatherings. Also famous for its generous servings when one visits a local’s home for eats, the Romanian countryside is definitely a nice destination. It major cities are of course metropolitan like that of its neighbors but there is just something different about Romania that borders to the mystic.

Although not particularly visited by tourists because of its medical tourism industry, Romania has been providing quality healthcare to medical tourists for decades and it is not just conventional medical treatments that the country’s healthcare sector is good at. The country also offers various natural therapies including mineral water baths, thermal baths, asthma therapy and mud therapy. There are also places that offer Oriental treatments ranging from acupuncture sessions to different types of massage therapies.

The steady development of this industry has made it possible for privately owned hospitals and facilities to flourish in Romania. Treatments and surgeries both for locals and medical tourists are quite popular in Europe but what really makes them popular is the quality of the service given to patients.

Procedures also cost a fraction of European prices making Romania a wonderful medical tourism destination for those who cannot afford certain types of procedures at home. Romanian medical tourism offers affordable plastic surgery, urology, weight loss programs and treatments as well as other procedures one would deem very expensive if done in places like the United States.
